Résumé court de "A night at a cottage"

The story is about a man who’s a prisoner. There had been heavy rain earlier in the day, and he’s looking for a place where he can sleep. He finds an empty cottage sets back from the road. He take out an iron bar from the lining of his coat and he forces the door. Then, he strikes a match and closes the door very carefully. He enters a room, and since there is a stove, he can make a tea. He sleeps a little time and after that, he hears steps in the passage. When the stranger arrives at the room, the main character see that he is a vagabond and they discuss about this house. The prisoner asks him why this room is neglected. He answers him a ghost haunts this room. And at the end of the story, we understand that the stranger is the ghost.
